The Godfather: I'll make you an offer you can not refuse ...
Jan 03
Francis Ford Coppola made a masterpiece almost without realizing it. With the continuous torpedo suffered during the shooting by the Paramount (mainly opposed to big name stars occupy the leading roles and then complained about the length of the film).
In our passion for film, we used to "zamparnos" in three days Coppola's trilogy on the DC, which total about eleven hours of movies, but not single movie, but of exquisite film, triple zero. In addition, we did it in HD, something that perhaps the purists desprueben the topic of colors and the true nature of the film ... well, say that the film wins but mostly in a better view of the scenes as the DVD version master comes from a very worn in which blacks invade the vast majority of the screen making you lose much of the action.
It was about 8 years since I saw the entire trilogy and the truth is that I'm back and enjoy as the first day. Now with a little more knowledge about film, I realized that the teacher subtleties Coppola had in front of the camera.
The screenplay by Mario Puzo, is (from what I read) faithfully adapted and supervised by the same as Puzo and Coppola wrote. Actually, the script was based on the first two parts, leaving the third as an addition to the history that after the successes at the box office and Academy Awards, decided to close the story brilliantly.
Analyzing the film, I can not say more than is a masterpiece from start to finish. Some prefer more the first, others second, and others the third and last, to remind you that there is a television adaptation of the entire saga including additional scenes and a montage of the first two parts continuously.
Me personally, I opt for the first two and the third is made (from my point of view) as (more or less rapid) to close the family saga, but excellently solved.
The story development is exemplary, excellent using flashbacks to tell the story of Vito Corleone in Sicily. Color also plays an important role, highlighting the colors gold over the first two parts. Dotan the history of the warmth of the 50's in America, when an economic boom made appearance in American society.
The characters, flojeen maybe a little but for a reason, a lot of mob boss, a long name and a lot of family to identify over 180 minutes, therefore, that the extras on Blu-Ray, we are shown a diagram with all family, enemies and characters in the film, no doubt a great help.
The music on the other hand, also 10. Nino Rota creates a family atmosphere around such familiar chords of melody and leitmotif of the protagonist.
No one can say that is a movie like LA Confidential, a must if you like movies and you can not pass. See the evolution of Al Pacino in the three parts (as actor and character), Marlon Brando as the Godfather of the Corleone family and pry into his past where he played Robert De Niro in his youth, until the appearance of Andy Garcia in the third, to the luxury side as Robert Duval and James Caan, is at best delusional, you can not ask for more.
Finally, note that shows like The Simpsons, The Sopranos, Family Guy and many other series and films have been steeped in mythical phrases as "I will make you an offer you can not refuse" or "leave the gun, take the Cagnoli" ...
Rating: 10
I leave you finally a couple of videos curious, the first is a summary of the trilogy themed pictures with music of the film. The second is the famous ma you Nino Rota performed by Slash, guitarist from Guns' n Roses.

Yes sir, one of the trilogies with a capital of film history, along with the Lord of the Rings. Other major trilogies, Star Wars and Indiana Jones were a bit dingy, and why not say, diluted with its sequels.
I confirm the script, because I do that I have read the novel on which it based the first part.
Big three ... the third a little bit more loose in my opinion (I agree with you), but the end ... tremendous. I bought Mascagni Cavalleria Rusticana by this film, I tell it all.
The simpsons what is true, as I am fan of this series, I remember Don Homer walking through the market as Don Fannucci and traders getting donuts ... to break the box.
