Stories S. Valentin: At least there are to choose
Mar 01
If the quality of a film is measured by what it costs to find a decent copy on websites download-sorry but at this point is not which would go to the cinema, this film certainly would be among the "top" because after a couple of weeks, or three, I found a card only decent TS. After seeing it, do not think is the best parameter to assess.
The film is a romantic comedy directed by Garry Marshall, also known by such titles as Pretty Woman, Runaway Bride, or The Princess Diaries, which gives us an idea of what we will find-that leverages the cast of these films Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Hector Elizondo ... is one of these films corals, which are so fashionable lately in the genre, which tells various stories that focus on one day so beloved by some, and hated by others, as is the S. Valentine.
The advantage of being an ensemble film is that it has different stories, so it is more entertaining than one story. However this has its downside is that any story can be somewhat disjointed, or incomplete, or to give more of themselves, against others that end up bored.
Being focused on different stories we see how they live the day of S. Valentine multiple partners: the love that is promised that day, the "best friends" before his current partners, the mature couples, love triangles, two strangers, that seems to emerge between the "spark" platonic love a child, adolescent love, and doubts generated by the "first time" mother-son love. There are relationships, unstable, long, long, straight, gay, so the social spectrum is completely covered.
In this respect, the film is very complete, and certainly the public is reflected in one situation or another. It also favors the multiplicity of stories that not all have to have a happy ending, something that is appreciated, in the genus
As the cast ensemble film is very broad, and with many stars. Thus, and leaving some, we have: Patrick Dempsey and Eric Dane-spunky doctors of Grey's Anatomy, and interestingly also makes the first medical-the Jessicas, Alba-Biel, Ashton Kutcher, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway, Kathy Bates, Hector Elizondo and Shirley Mc Laine, Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Garner ... that is, a deal is overwhelming, combining seniority with the youth, people with success on TV, with big movie stars, people consolidated with young talent ... In that regard the film is impeccable.
As stories, because there is everything: some clichés are true, while others are more tender, or even surprising, because you do not expect that ending. Posts of note among the topical I think of Ashton Kutcher, and among the amazing Julia Roberts with Bradley Cooper. The teenagers, especially the athlete with the "dumb cheerleader" is totally expendable, are perhaps the weakest. As Anne Hathaway's fun, a little clumsy line-ugly duckling-swan, which is somewhat typecast. As fond of the child and grandparents.
With this diversity of situations we also have different approaches to the day: from the romantics who expect it to be special, the couples who want to surprise the other, the disenchanted, dinner celebrating "Anti S. Valentine "-S. Ballantine's, have called me many years, permit the "off topic" personal, people for whom a day's work and hate, those who do not know how to deal with, being the first time you spend with your partner ...
With such a cast some are wasted, Julia Roberts and Bradley Cooper, for example, one is expendable, Kathy Bates and Queen Latifah, who seem to be bouncing and do not contribute much to the story.
As a gag comedy should have some fun and this time take them both Jennifer Garner, in the two scenes of the restaurant, a waitress, and when confronted, full of frustration at the piñata, and Anne Hathaway, trying to reconcile their relationship partner with his "other work". For me, these two stand out above the rest, although it may be an entirely subjective opinion, because I feel a weakness for both, especially at Hathaway.
Another aspect of these films is to see how you assemble the stories and characters, and in this case is pretty good. Not all stories converge in one place, almost, but is met with grace.
So a movie without complications, entertaining, which we will draw a story that we like, but at some point we get tired
The best: it is so broad that at some point we will be identified. Some gags and surprises.
The worst: some stories are stretched unnecessarily and others fall short.
