Desperate Housewives: life in the "suburbs" can be mysterious

Desperate Housewives was a series I discovered a couple of years in a holiday week in which it never stopped raining. He had exhausted other series and had the DVDs of this, which I had borrowed from Dani. I started it with some suspicion, because he was not sure I would find. However, I was surprised, and I think that first I almost fell swoop I polished the first two seasons.

The series is what connoisseurs call "dramedy" , ie shares both comic and dramatic moments. The format is closer to the duration of the dramas, ie, about 40 minutes of real time.

The argument in principle is simple: count the daily lives of four friends living in a street "Wisteria Lane" of a residential "suburb" of a fictional town "Fairview" U.S.. The neighborhood is upper middle class, so in principle no, but not always the case, having trouble making ends meet.

However, what looks like a peaceful and idyllic existence is revealed that not so much from the very moment when the series begins with the suicide of one of his best friends (the fifth of the group). The characters of the four protagonists are very currados, the best of TV and complement each other perfectly.

The main cast was from the outset known faces, at least as far as television is concerned. The main characters are:

The narrative structure of the series is outstanding. All events begin and end with the voice of Mary Alice's friend who dies at the beginning of the series that never fails to be present as a character, and even occasionally appear physically in episodes in which you use the flashback.

To avoid falling into the routine is common to see flashbacks or episodes in which the story is told through the eyes of several characters.

In addition, to give effect to the series, as the general theme we have seen that it is limited, each season begins, and ends with one or more mysteries to solve and the introduction of secondary characters that will stay in the series or not following seasons.
